Vans Warped Tour History and Comeback
The first Warped Tour took place in 1995, and Vans became its principal naming sponsor in 1996. The festival grew significantly as punk rock and pop-punk gained mainstream popularity during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Throughout its history, Vans Warped Tour featured thousands of performances and helped introduce fans to bands across the alternative music scene. The traditional cross-country tour concluded in 2018, although special anniversary events continued afterward.
The festival celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2025, bringing the Warped Tour experience back to major cities. The comeback attracted substantial crowds and renewed interest in its legacy.
According to historical reporting, the festival sold an estimated 10.6 million tickets between 1997 and 2018. Its founder also stated that the tour had reached more than 11 million people worldwide. These figures demonstrate the scale of its historical audience. They should not be interpreted as the number of unique online visitors or students.
